Winter Activities
Breckenridge Ski School: Ski school is one of the best ways to occupy your child’s time during the day, and give you some free time to hook up some great turns on the mountain, or maybe even sleep in! Breckenridge offers a variety of alternatives for children from private lessons, to kid’s group classes that will take children from age 4 and up. Sledding at Carter Park: Especially fun for kids, Carter Park is an easy “walk up and slide down” sledding hill that is both safe and exciting. Grab a sled or a tube and head out for some old fashioned winter fun.
Summer Activities
Peak 8 Fun Park: The Peak 8 Fun Park at Breckenridge Ski Resort is one of the most exciting activities during the summer in Breckenridge for children to experience. The Peak 8 Fun Park includes rides and activities such as the Alpine Super Slide, Gold Runner Coaster, Breck 4X4 Tours, Pony Rides, Mountain Biking, Mini Golf, Gemstone Panning, Mineshaft Maze and more!
Year-Round Activities
Grand Lodge Family Fun Center: The Family Fun Center at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 features games and movies that everyone can enjoy! There are coin-operated games like Dance Dance Revolution, Bowling and Cruising USA, as well as a ping pong table and a pool table. Guests can also enjoy outdoor shuffle board in the summer. The games in the Family Fun Center at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 are open every day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
In addition, the Family Fun Center features two private movie theaters. Each movie theater is equipped with state-of-the-art video technology and is operated by using a touch screen pad to select a movie, or to watch Direct TV. There are 11 reclining movie theater seats and two giant bean bag chairs in each theater.
Movie theater reservations are made in three hour increments every day, with the first theater reservation time slot starting at 9 a.m.. The movie theaters close at midnight. Guests of the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 can reserve a movie theater, free of charge during their stay by contacting the Front Desk at 970-453-3330.
Kid’s Movie Night at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7: Your children are invited to attend a private screening of a popular children’s movie in the Grand Lodge movie theaters. This weekly activity is a great opportunity for parents to leave their kids in the care of the Grand Lodge staff, so that they can enjoy some free time. Gold Runner Coaster: This year-round roller coaster takes its shape from the ski run it is located on and provides a one of a kind roller coaster experience. Enjoy a thrilling ride in your own private car as you twist and turn down 2,500 feet of elevated track.
Youth programs for kids at the Breckenridge Recreation Center: The Breckenridge Recreation Center offers a variety of children’s programs and activities year round, including swimming, skating, hockey, tennis, arts & music, hiking & outdoor activities and special events throughout the year! Breckenridge's Mountain Top Children's Museum: This unique museum offers a camp for children 5 to 14 years of age! The museum’s exhibits feature Rocky Mountain Wildlife, Creation Station, Kidstruction Zone, Wonder Lab, Studio Imagination and even a Tot Spot for ages 2 and under!
